Zeaxanthin is one of the active ingredient from Marigold Extract. It is one of the most common carotenoid alcohols found in nature. Zeaxanthin is important in the xanthophyll cycle. Synthesized in plants and some micro-organisms, it is the pigment that gives paprika, corn, saffron, wolfberries, and many other plants and microbes their characteristic color.
Zeaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant and it also reduces the risk of cancer and boosts immune function. In additional, Zeaxanthin also significantly reduces the risk of heart attack and helps slow the progression of atherosclerosis. Zeaxanthin itself has high nutritional value, which can be converted into bioactive vitamin A in the human liver. It has special effects on promoting the growth and development of the human body, protecting eyesight and epithelial cells, improving disease resistance and prolonging life.
